DSP Group to use ARM core for residential wireless

DSP Group has licensed the ARM7TDMI microprocessor core for use in its short-range wireless residential line of products. It will provide the core alongside its own TeakLite DSP cores and supported by a combined development environment based around the ARM RealView development solution and the TeakLite development board and support software.

DSP Group combines its DSP cores technology with RF, communication technology and speech-processing algorithms, to develop Total Telephony Solutions. It sees the combination being used in cordless telephony, PBX systems, Bluetooth products, IP phones, hands free car kits for the automotive, and multimedia handheld devices.

Last month the company opened a sales and marketing office in Scotland. Ruth Wilson has joined as European Sales and Marketing Director. Prior to joining DSPG, Wilson led the Bluetooth Business team within the Systems Group of Tality.
