A 100Base-T1 Ethernet PHY transceiver, the DP83TC811S-Q1 from Texas Instruments, targets space-constrained automotive network designs. The AEC-Q100 qualified device comes in a 6×6-mm, 36-pin wettable flank VQFNP and transmits and receives data over unshielded single twisted-pair copper cable.

The DP83TC811S-Q1 transceiver provides a serial gigabit media independent interface (SGMII), which enables connections to multiple switches and interfaces, along with a host of other media independent interfaces. Integrated diagnostic tools include cable diagnostics, temperature and voltage sensors, and an ESD monitor.
