A Bluetooth 5 certified audio system-on-chip (SoC) from Microchip, the IS2064GM0L3, supports Sony’s high-resolution LDAC audio coding technology. LDAC allows audio streaming over Bluetooth connections at up to 990 kbps—three times higher than the standard Bluetooth Sub-Band Codec (SBC)—while maintaining maximum bit depth and frequency of 24 bits and 96 kHz.

The IS2064GM-0L3 provides built-in internal flash for program memory, which allows firmware updating. Audio interfaces include I2S digital output, analog output, auxiliary input, and microphone input. The device also packs such peripherals as a lithium-ion and lithium-polymer battery charger (up to 350 mA), 1.8 V and 3 V configurable voltage regulators, and an ADC for battery monitoring, voltage sensor, and charger thermal protection.
