Mini-ITX MightySystem targets embedded media applications

Moving from boards to turnkey computer systems, Ampro Computer Inc. has just introduced its MightySystem in a Mini-ITX form targeting applications requiring graphics and data processing performance in a small footprint.

Based on the company's MightyBoard, MightySystem handles high resolution displays up to 2048 x 1526 75Hz CRT and 24-bit LVDS resolution up to 1600 x 1200.

It supports Intel processors up to 2.0 GHz with PCI Express graphics and I/O, Gigabit Ethernet, Serial ATA (SATA) storage, USB 2.0, up to 2GB DDR2 RAM, and ACPI power management.

Joanne Mumola Williams, president and CEO of Ampro, said the system is desighed to allow the rapid development and deployment of systems for digital media applications such as media information terminals, gaming and digital advertising.

Optical storage is available with a slim line DVD-ROM/CD-RW for media centric applications. Media playback, Direct3D gaming and multimedia authoring are among the targeted applications for MightySystem computers as well as a host of other custom PC solutions.

Supporting both CRT and LVDS video interfaces, a MightySystem based on the MightyBoard 800 offers up to 1.4GHz Pentium M and includes Intel Extreme Graphics 2 controller for both CRT and LVDS video display output.

Additionally it includes AC97 Audio, Four (4) USB ports, one (1) Gigabit and one (1) 10/100 Ethernet ports and up to 1GByte DDR memory. A MightyBoard 821 based system offers a choice of 2.0 GHz Pentium) M 760 or 1.5 GHz Celeron) M 370 processor, along with the Intel 915GM chipset and up to 2GB DDR2 533 RAM using two DIMM slots.

I/O includes six (6) USB 2.0 ports, both EIDE and Serial ATA interfaces, two (2) Intel 82573 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet ports, a x16 ("by-sixteen") PCI Express slot for high-end graphics as well as integrated chipset graphics.

The MightySystem is available with Windows XP, Windows XP Embedded, Windows CE, and a full Linux 2.6 distribution The MightySystem is available now with the MightyBoard 800 and will be available within 90 days with the MightyBoard 821.
