The Renesas RH850/E2x series of on-chip flash memory microcontrollers brings higher efficiency and reliability to green cars and autonomous vehicles. Compared to earlier 40 nm MCUs, the RH850/E2x 28 nm series achieves approximately three times the performance at the same power level.

The RH850/E2x microcontrollers incorporate up to six 400 MHz CPU cores, which enable the devices to achieve a processing performance of up to 9600 MIPS. Packing up to 16 Mbytes of flash ROM and 10 channels of CAN FD, the MCUs allow safe and rapid over-the-air updating of ECU software.
