Digital signal controllers offer dual core, functional safety features

Microchip Technology Inc. has expanded its family of dsPIC33C digital signal controller (DSC) family with new dual- and single-core options with more memory, temperature and functional safety features for automotive and wireless charging applications.

Aimed at system developers designing high-end embedded control applications that often need to scale designs to meet increasing complexity, the cost-optimized version, the dsPIC33CK64MP105 single-core DSC, targets applications that need a smaller memory and footprint, while the dsPIC33CH512MP508 dual-core DSC enables support for applications with larger program memory requirements. These new options make it easier for developers to scale across product lines along with their pin-to-pin compatibility with the dsPIC33CH and dsPIC33CK families.

The dsPIC33CH512MP508 (MP5) family expands the dsPIC33CH with 512 KB Flash memory, up from 128 KB, and triples the program RAM from 24 KB to 72 KB.
