Packing an integrated buck DC/DC converter for thermal management, the AD5758 16-bit DAC from Analog Devices offers dynamic power control to enable high-density analog output modules without derating.

The AD5758 is intended for channel-to-channel isolated industrial applications in factory automation, process automation, and motor control. Its 5×5-mm size results in one of the smallest footprints in the industry, while robust construction minimizes the number of external protection components needed. The part provides output current ranges of 0 to 20 mA, 4 mA to 20 mA, 0 to 24 mA, ±20 mA, ±24 mA, and -1 mA to +22 mA. Output voltage ranges, with 20% overrange, span 0 to 5 V, 0 to 10 V, ±5 V, and ±10 V.
