Osram Opto Semiconductors expands its Oslon Black portfolio with the SFH 4718A infrared LED, which provides a narrow beam angle of ±25°, eliminating the need for secondary optics for illumination in mid-range security camera systems. With this latest addition, the Oslon Black infrared family now offers a choice of three wavelengths (810 nm, 850 nm, and 940 nm) and three beam angles (±25°, ±45°, and ±75°), as well as four power levels ranging from 0.3 W to 2 W.

In addition to its narrow beam angle, the SFH 4718A provides a radiant intensity of 730 W/sr. At a current of 1 A, the IR LED delivers an optical output of 0.8 W. s.
