ESC – GEMstudio enables smartphone-like graphics in 8-, 16-, and 32-bit embedded systems

San Jose, Calif., ESC booth 947 – GEMstudio from Amulet Technologies is a drag-and-drop GUI development environment for creating high-end, color touchscreen human-machine-interfaces (HMIs) with smartphone-like graphics for 8-, 16-, and 32-bit bit embedded systems. GEMstudio integrates tools for visual layout, interactive PC based simulation, and programming of the flash memory in the target embedded hardware.

Since the same rendering engine is used for the WYSIWYG layout tool, Amulet's royalty free graphical OS on its GUI OS IC, and the GUI simulator, graphic designers can always see exactly how the design will look on the production hardware. GEMstudio's interactive OS simulator allows usability testing and visual proofing of the UI without the target hardware. Additionally, GEMstudio can compile the entire GUI and program it directly into flash memory on the target device.

Available now: GEMstudio, $499. GEM Graphical OS Chip, $6.72 in quantities of 100k units. LCD Evaluator Kits, $199 plus the price of the display. GEMexpress GUI OS boards, $69 in quantities of 5K units.
