VDC Research presented its Embeddie Awards for best new products on show on the ESC Silicon Valley show floor. The company invited all exhibitors who were announcing or demonstrating significant new software or hardware products to have the chance to submit themselves for consideration.
The award for best embedded hardware product went to Xilinx for its Extensible Processing Platform that takes advantage of ARM's dual-core Cortex-A9 MPCore processors, each running at up to 800 MHz.
Keith DeHaven, (pictured right) director Processor and Systems Architecture at Xilinx received the award from Stephen Balacco, Director, Embedded Software & Tools Practice, VDC Research Group.
Winner of the embedded software product of the show was Viosoft (Round Rock, Texas) for its Android adoption kits and development kits including the Arriba debugger and event analyzer which runs on both Linux and Android platforms.
Howard Axelrod (pictured below), director of sales for the Eastern US received the award from Chris Rommel, analyst within the Embedded Software Practice at VDC.
