Extra small OEM radio modules for low power wireless

The deRFmega128-22M00 is new OEM radio module for low power wireless applications from dresden elektronik. It is less than half the size of the company's current modules and offers more options for the design process. The new tiny radio module offers a versatile and pin compatible module with AVR processor for the 2.4 GHz band and features minimal space requirements and current consumption. The newly added LGA pad option facilitates a substantially more flexible integration into customized products.

At 23.7 mm x 13.2 mm the deRFmega128-22M00 is currently dresden's smallest module and has the lowest power consumption of all dresden's modules available in the US. For this reason it is especially well-suited for battery-operated end devices in wireless sensor networks. The radio module is available as an SMT module with the single-chip 8-bit AVR microcontroller ATmega128RFA1 from Atmel. This version is designed for the 2.4 GHz ISM band with an integrated chip ceramic antenna .

All dresden elektronik IEEE 802.15.4 OEM modules are supported by MAC Stack, 6LoWPAN and ZigBee software and have a 128-bit AES unit for data encryption. The new module can be run with a corresponding adapter board on existing development platforms from dresden elektronik.
