Farnell InOne top in charity bike ride


LONDON — A Farnell InOne team raised £2,759 by taking part in The Great Yorkshire Bike Ride, the UK's longest sponsored bike ride, which this year raised £109,791 bringing the 22-year running total for the event to over £1.3million.

The Farnell InOne team won an award for highest sponsorship which is shared between a number of charities including Heart Research UK, ChildLine, The Fund for Epilepsy and Disability Action Yorkshire.

A record 1,553 cyclists took part in the 70-mile ride from Wetherby to Filey. Over 26,000 cyclists have ridden a total of 1,826,300 miles in the Great Yorkshire Bike Ride since it began in 1984.

Steven Webb, Company Secretary, Farnell InOne, said, “Farnell InOne is proud to be associated with the Great Yorkshire Bike Ride, which it has supported through both sponsorship and employee participation for many years. As a Yorkshire-based company, we strongly believe in supporting our local area and its people.”
