Frequency synthesizer provides sub-picosecond jitter for high-end servers

Sunnyvale, Calif.—Maxim Integrated Products is offering the MAX3678, a low-jitter frequency synthesizer with nine LVPECL clock outputs and intelligent dynamic switching. The MAX3678 generates up to a 333MHz clock output from a low, 66.6MHz reference clock input. It utilizes low-noise VCO and PLL architecture to ensure low 0.30psRMS jitter (12kHz to 20MHz) with -60dBc power-supply noise rejection. The MAX3678 eases system-timing design and increases reliability, making it suitable for high-speed synchronized applications such as high-end server memory and CPU clock generation.
