San DiegoColorChip has released the Meteor II GPON Class B Enhanced diplexer transceiver for the FTTH market.
According to ColorChip, the diplexer transceiver delivers a reach of 20km at a competitive price. It includes a DFB laser, with a typical output power of +2.5dBm and a PIN receiver with a typical sensitivity of -28dBm, for a downstream bit rate of 2.488-Gbit/s and an up stream bit rate of 1.244-Gbit/s.
ColorChip is touting its Meteor II GPON Class B enhanced transceiver as a strong alternative to the APD receiver in the ONT.
