Grover leaves Trident, Journo and Brooks join Abacus board

LONDON — Graham Grover, Managing Director of Trident, will be leaving the company, which is part of the Abacus Group, at the end of June 2006.

Patrick Journo, who joined the Group in April this year when it acquired the Axess Technology Group where he was President, will replace Gover on the group board as Managing Director, Displays.

Martin Brooks will also join the board as Technical Director. He has been with Abacus since August 1998 in senior sales and marketing positions in the electronic component distribution business. He was initially Marketing Manager for Semiconductors, and was subsequently promoted to Marketing Director of Abacus Polar, then to General Manager, Abacus Polar. Prior to joining Abacus, he spent four years with ESD (now Arrow) in Technical Management, and two years with Phoenix Electronics as a Sales Engineer.

“Martin Brooks and Patrick Journo bring to the board their focus on the products and technologies at the core of our business – Martin on the component side, Patrick on the displays and wireless communications side. They have a vital role to play in developing our strategy as we go forward as an enlarged European business,” said Martin Kent, Chief Executive of Abacus Group.
