Growth spurs Photonic Products to move

LONDON — Laser diode specialist, Photonic Products, has moved to larger premises in Hatfield Broad Oak, Hertfordshire following growth than has seen its turnover increase by 226% and its workforce trebled since 2001.

Launched in 1995, Photonic Products has seen growing demand for its range of custom designed optoelectronic components and its new 1242 sq m headquarters provides production area, workshops, warehousing and offices, and room for further growth.

The company ended 2004 shipping products worth over £1million in the last quarter with 80% of sales were exported. A significant portion of these shipments were to its growing customer base in the USA and Canada.

Tony Pope, managing director of Photonic Products, said, “2004 was an exceptional year for Photonic Products as we expanded our product line, captured significant market share in key areas, and expanded our operations as a global company with a greater emphasis on the North American region.”

As well as manufacturing optoelectronic components based on semiconductor diode laser technology the company is also a specialist distributor of high performance industrial laser diodes and components for Sanyo, Sony, Opnext, Panasonic and Philips.
