LONDON Tekdata Interconnections Ltd., will be complete a move in to new manufacturing facilities in Stoke-on-Trent, England, by October 19. The company will increase it workforce by over 25 percent during 2009.
“In recent years we have solved complex design challenges and delivered on precise technical and commercial demands from our customers,” said Ernie Edwards, managing director of Tekdata Interconnections. “Our continuous success has resulted in growth, and this growth means the time is right for Tekdata to relocate to new facilities. This move will help us continue supporting major manufacturers with a diverse range of products & technologies, and it has room to accommodate our expected future growth.”
Wiring systems specialist Tekdata, which is 40 years old this year, has recently grown 20 percent a year including what the companies calls 'enormous' growth in exports. It was presented with the first 'Company of the Year for Innovation' award by Northern Defence Industries (NDI) in April. It is also a finalist for this year's National Business Awards in the 'Small to Medium Sized Business of the Year' category.
The company's technologies and applications include aero control systems, large numbers of military communications systems, harnesses for advanced missiles, military specification IT racks, harnesses and related equipment for spacecraft, and satellite land systems. Tekdata also builds equipment for submarines and military vehicles, and it makes substantial contributions in industrial, instrumentation and energy management equipment.
