LONDON Hammond Electronics has acquired the small enclosures business of West Hyde Enclosures Ltd and manufacturing has now resumed in the U.K. from the original West Hyde tooling, providing continuity of supply of the Clipper enclosures.
Hammond Electronics is a subsidiary of Hammond Manufacturing, a Canadian company founded in 1917 and which has a U.K. office in Basingstoke. West Hyde was based on the Nailsworth Industrial Estate, Stroud.
The Clipper family is an entry level flameproof ABS enclosure, intended for housing small PCBs for hand-held applications. Four sizes, from 40 x 60 x 19mm to 125 x 70 x 22mm, are available in either black or grey; the three largest sizes are fitted with a battery compartment suitable for either a 9V PP3 or 2 x AA batteries.
