LONDON Harwin has signed a franchise distribution agreement with Charcroft Electronics as part of a plan to increase its presence in the defence, aerospace and other life-critical sectors.
Harwin is the third interconnect manufacturer to appoint Charcroft as a franchised distributor, after the passives specialist launched a new connector division.
While Charcroft will sell Harwin’s full range of standard and application-specific connectors but as a key supplier to the defence and aerospace sector will provide particularly strong specialist support on Harwin’s 2.0mm Datamate connectors, which comply with CECC 75101-008, MIL C 55302 and are available to BS9525-F0033 (A & B sub groups) upon request.
Hedley Fletcher, European distribution manager at Harwin’s, said, “The flexibility of Harwin’s product range, with over 7.8 million configurations of signal and power in the new mixed technology versions of the Datamate series alone, means that Charcroft’s experience in engineering support and procurement for new and retro-fit life-critical designs will be a significant advantage to customers.”
Edmund Coady, Charcroft’s sales director, said, “Harwin has an excellent reputation within our existing customer base and many customers have expressed an interest in being able to consolidate their vendor lists by sourcing both passive and interconnect from Charcroft.”
