High-speed DVI/HDMI differential video switch targets next-generation HDTV, PC graphics

Pericom Semiconductor's high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) switch supports the transmitting of digital television AV signals from DVD players, set-top boxes, and additional AV sources to TVs, projectors, and other video displays. The PI3HDMI412 DVI/HDMI switch was designed using high-speed differential broadband switching technology that provides industry proven DVI/HDMI TMDS signal processing. It's built with four differential channels and a two-to-one mux-demux.

With its maximum DVI/HDMI data rate of 1.65 Gbits/s, the PI3HDMI412 provides the resolution (1920 by 1080 pixels) required by next generation HDTV and PC graphics applications. The switch is sampling now, with prices starting at $1.50 in 10,000-unit quantities. Samples, datasheets, application notes, and additional information can be found at the company's website, www.pericom.com/assp.
