IAR Systems is collaborating with HOLT Integrated Circuits in the development of a MIL-STD-1553 application development kit.
HOLT Integrated Circuits is a supplier of ICs for avionics and military data bus and display applications and its products are specified by more than 400 manufacturers worldwide. They are used in flight control, navigation, engine management, communications, safety equipment, and in-flight entertainment systems.
IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM C/C++ IDE has been selected by HOLT for use in its ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller development environment. The kit demonstrates concurrent operation for any combination of bus controller, bus monitor and one or two remote terminals.
The hardware includes a 2-board assembly, an HI-6130 board with dual transformer-coupled MIL-STD-1553 bus interfaces and a lower microprocessor board with ARM Cortex-M3 16/32-bit microprocessor, debug interface and regulated 3.3VDC power supply.
The kit provides the user with an out-of-the-box evaluation platform and includes a software reference design demonstrating many common MIL-STD-1553 BC, MT and RT application examples. The source code may be customized using IAR Systems software suite, reducing software development time.
IAR Systems will demonstrate its tools at ARM TechCon in Santa Clara on October 25-27,
