LONDON IGG Component Technology, which specialises in the supply of high reliability components, has been awarded tier one supplier approval status by Rolls-Royce. This will allow the company to deal with the entire Rolls-Royce group of companies including marine power and aero engines, as well as all the subcontractors in the supply chain.
Robert W Gregory, Specialist Electronics Design Engineer at Rolls-Royce, said, “Electronic components for high reliability markets are becoming increasingly difficult to source and have ever decreasing supply spans. Rolls-Royce needs partners that allow us to be confident that we can maintain supply of our products well into the future. The new status for IGG means we can get the parts we need from the supply chain via IGG or through using IGG’s services like upscreening of COTS parts, knowing that they will also store them in a safe environment.”
IGG (Fareham, U.K.) has been working with the marine power division of Rolls-Royce since 2001 and with other divisions since then on an ad-hoc basis.
Rolls-Royce tier one supplier approval includes a stringent set of requirements, including an extensive quality audit, the achievement of Investors in People status and only U.K. nationals being employed.
