San Francisco, Ca. — Looking at the explosion of applications in small footprint netcentric embedded and iappliance applications, InHand Electronics Inc. is making available a version of Linux for its full line of handheld and wireless device reference platforms.
InHand Linux is based on version 2.4.7 of the open source Linux kernel and is available for InHand's Development Platforms, including those based on Elf, Elf2, and Fingertip.
Development Platform pricing starts at $3000 and includes reference platform hardware, a CD with a complete Linux offering, documentation, and 180 days of technical support. Customers with paid-up support for InHand's software packages are eligible for free upgrades to InHand Linux.
