LONDON Innos has appointed Dr Alec Reader and Professor Philip Nelson FREng to its board of directors.
The appointment of Dr Alec Reader coincides with his promotion to the role of Sales & Marketing Director. Since bringing his 24 years experience in micro and nano-electronics to Innos (Southampton, England) in late 2004, Dr Reader has been instrumental in delivering on Innos’ commitment to bridging the gap between industry needs and academic expertise and firmly establishing its reputation for R&D expertise in the U.K. and near Europe.
Professor Philip Nelson was previously Director of the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research and was appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Southampton this year. He brings to Innos a proven pedigree in acoustics – currently serving as President of the International Commission for Acoustics – and an in-depth knowledge of creating industry sponsored research grants.
Andrew Monk, who this month celebrates his first year as CEO of Innos, said, “This year we have made large steps forward. Our expertise has been exploited to the benefit of many highly innovative and significant projects, in both the academic and commercial arena.”
Innos is working on research and development for innovations in nanoscale technology and provides industry and academic institutions with access to full processing capability for silicon-based devices. Following a fire at the University of Southampton, Innos recently signed a deal to use Philips Microsystems Plaza (MiPlaza) production processes.
