Java IDE targets resource-constrained designs

San Diego, Calif — Aonix announced its release of PERC Pico, an integrated development environment (IDE) for developers geared toward the creation of resource-constrained and deeply embedded hard real-time applications and components. The PERC Pico environment comes with a Java compiler, a verifier, and automated build tools to create executables. Built-in memory management is also provided to remove the complexities and execution inefficiencies typically associated with conventional garbage-collection techniques that are less suitable for resource-constrained applications. Designed as a profile of the RTSJ, PERC Pico can be used in either a stand-alone configuration on bare target boards or with an RTOS kernel. Target applications for the PERC Pico IDE include avionics, satellites, deep space probes, radio communications, telecom, weapons systems, and flight surface controls.
