Jennic drives ZigBee in Europe and Asia

LONDON — Jennic (Sheffield, U.K.) has made two senior sales and business development appointments to help drive the company's growth in Europe and Asia.

“In order to make ZigBee easy, we have put in place the technology, products and support infrastructure for our ZigBee wireless microcontrollers; now the key focus for Jennic is to lead demand creation so that we can maximize the opportunities from ZigBee enabled products. These two key appointments will help us drive the market in Europe, Japan and Korea, complementing the sales and distribution network we have already established in North America and greater China,” said Mike Clancy, vice president sales for Jennic.

Ian Diaper joins as business development manager for Japan and Korea, while Dave Baker joins as sales manager for southern Europe.

Diaper brings more than 10 years of wired and wireless industry experience to Jennic, having held sales and marketing positions at fabless mixed-signal semiconductor companies like CSR, Micro Linear and CML. Earlierin his career he accumulated 10 years experience in the instrumentation industry in R&D and product management roles.

Baker joins from Integrated Circuit Systems which was acquired by Integrated Device Technology last September, where he was director of sales for six years. He was responsible for sales development and demandcreation in Europe, South Africa, Israel, and India, for ICS' mixed signal CMOS clock timing ICs for the PC, consumer and telecom markets.
