Kit puts zip in ZigBee development

Norcross, Ga. — Network designers can evaluate the ZigBee wireless standard for industrial environments with the help of the ZMN24000DK developer kit from Cirronet Inc. For example, the kit can quickly test range, speed, and operation using the same inputs that would drive the intended application. Afterwards, the kit can also help to develop system interfaces and control software.

The kit consists of two 2.4-GHz serial interface boards, power adapters, cables, antennas, batteries, and demonstration software. The interface boards are built around the company's 100-mW ZigBee OEM module and feature USB and RS-232 interfaces.

The ZMN24000DK ZigBee Developer Kit, including technical support, is available now for $295. In addition, a “pro” version of the kit, due out later this year, will include additional serial interface boards and a ZigBee serial gateway for creating complete ZigBee networks.
