Kontron has introduced its new high-performance computer platform of the KISS server family for industrial and medical applications. The robust high-performance server KISS 4U V3 SKX with its industrial grade design is ideally suited for demanding applications. Thanks to its reliability and longevity, it can also be used for 24/7 operation. The rackmount server, which can also be used as a workstation (tower version) or desktop, is particularly suitable for demanding applications: e.g. high-end image processing, SCADA/MES applications, artificial intelligence and machine learning. The new servers with up to Dual Intel Xeon SP series processors easily manage compute-intensive processes and large amounts of data. The system's operating noise emission remains constantly low (<= 35dBA), qualifying it for operation in noise-sensitive areas in close proximity to people. In addition, the KISS 4U V3 SKX is designed for harsh environments and suitable for use at high temperatures and mechanical stress. The flexible, modular design allows easy adaptation to customer-specific requirements.
The KISS 4U V3 SKX rackmount server relies upon two CPUs with powerful processors of the Intel Xeon SP series, which are equipped with sixteen DIMM DDR4-2666 modules and up to 512 GB RAM and ECC support. The server is thus designed for permanent, high-availability operation around the clock. The efficient thermal concept also ensures smooth operation at temperatures of up to 50° Celsius. The server in standard 4U format is shock and vibration resistant according to EN 60068-2-27 and EN 60068-2-6.
The KISS 4U V3 SKX comes with two USB 2.0 interfaces, two USB 3.0 interfaces, two 10 Gigabit LAN ports and one VGA port on the rear side as well as two USB 2.0 ports on the front side. In addition, the KISS 4U V3 SKX offers three 5.25″ SATA drive bays, one 2.5″ or 3.5″ internal drive, one M.2 2280 PCIe drive with or without RAID support and seven PCIe expansion slots. The KISS 4U V3 SKX rackmount server can be quickly and easily adapted to individual requirements thanks to its modular design and the wide range of I/O- and expansion options.
