LONDON Abacus Polar has promoted Danny Lawrence to business development director with Mark Cundle becoming field application engineer manager, and Tony Pope being promoted to manager of the internal technical desk at Abacus Polar.
In his new role, Lawrence (left) has a broad-ranging remit to look at how the capabilities of Abacus Polar and Abacus Group can be combined to strengthen the distributor’s presence in its key accounts. He will be building on the relationships with design teams at these customers that he developed in his previous position as semiconductor marketing manager, and working with them to address their most significant challenges. Lawrence has been with Abacus Polar for 15 years.
As FAE manager, Cundle will have twelve of Abacus Polar’s team of 14 FAEs reporting directly to him while Pope will manage Abacus Polar’s team of three internal applications engineers.
“Abacus Polar’s technical sales team has always been a core strength, and is the reason many customers come to us first. Danny has made a significant contribution developing this new team, and his new role gives him an outstanding opportunity to further strengthen our business. Mark and Tony have demonstrated considerable potential in their existing roles here, and I am convinced that they have a great deal to offer in these new positions,” said, Glenn Jarrett, marketing director, semiconductors and emech.
