Low-dielectric ceramic antennas reduce costs

Laird Technologies has developed a line of ceramic antennas targeted at the handset and wireless data device markets. The small-form ceramic antennas, which are available now, come equipped with Bluetooth, wireless local area network (WLAN), and global positioning system (GPS) capabilities that can be integrated into PC Card, mobile handsets, laptops, and other wireless products. The antennas also grant users low dielectric losses and high isolation from other antennas all while shrinking expenses.

This increases the company's antenna portfolio to three different offerings: existing standard antennas; tuned or adaptive antennas with customized antenna specifications and original dimensions; and fully customized antennas for specific antenna patterns and dimensions.

Ceramic antenna prices range from 15 to 40 cents depending on quantity and antenna type. For additional information, go to www.lairdtech.com.
