LynuxWorks appoints Unique Memec as pan-European distributor

Unique Memec has signed an agreement to distribute LynuxWorks embedded operating systems and software development solutions on a pan-European basis. The distributorship will provide consulting design services, sales, marketing, technical and commercial support for the products.

Unique Memec's territory spans 15 geographical markets and the distributor will focus on selling BlueCat. Linux into key embedded application sectors such as set-top boxes, network appliances and converging PDA and mobile phone designs.

The distributorship marks a major expansion of LynuxWorks across Europe, according to LynuxWorks' managing director of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Gerry Winckler. “Unique Memec is the ideal partner to expand the presence of BlueCat for embedded applications in the European market. They have a substantial presence in each of the countries we are targeting, with dedicated field application engineering teams and special focus on key vertical markets.”

Unique Memec' has links with ARM, Intel and Cirrus Logic. Ian Gardiner UK sales manager for LynuxWorks, said, “This familiarity with the most popular embedded processor technologies enhances their ability to serve customers developing embedded applications and is a distinct benefit to customers developing applications with our embedded software.”
