Houston, Texas – To make it easier for power engineers to design with its TMS320C2000 Piccolo microcontroller family, Texas Instruments is expanding its portfolio of software, tools and training services in support of the MCUs.
The new offering allows developers to jumpstart digital power design based on TI’s C2000 Piccolo MCUs, which provide flexibility to adapt to varying power supply models, integration to reduce component count and programmability to ensure efficiency across the full power load range.
More than 25 free, modular digital power software blocks have been added to controlSUITE software, dramatically reducing programming challenges. Additionally, TI’s new High Voltage PFC Developer’s Kit includes all of the hardware and software needed to quickly implement digital power factor correction (PFC) in end products for regulation compliance.
Also available is a new in-depth training designed to give developers with all experience levels a solid foundation of digital power theory and extensive hands-on labs.
A part of the support package includes a Digital Power Three-Day Workshop by Biricha Digital Power Ltd. which begins with introductory theory, C2000 Piccolo MCU overview, step-by-step design of digital power supply control loops and digital slope compensation with no external circuitry. It also includes extensive design labs, including implementation of multiple voltage mode digital controllers and advanced digital peak current mode control.
