Manufacturing jobs to go in Scotland


LONDON — An electronics manufacturing facility owned by the Simclar Group (Edinburgh, Scotland) is cutting 80 of the around 300 jobs at its site in Fife, Dunfermline.

Earlier in the year around 420 workers lost their jobs when the company closed its factories in Irvine and Kilwinning, Ayrshire.

Simclar produces cables and components for firms like IBM, Motorola and Eriksson and also has manufacturing plants in the U.S., China and Mexico.
