The Technology Partnership (TTP), an independent technology development and licensing company, has come up with a mobile TV demonstrator for Neomagic. The two companies collaborated on a mobile TV solution that lets handset makers and OEMs quickly bring low-cost feature phones to market that can receive mobile TV broadcasts.
The DAB-IP technology from TTP includes both TV and radio reception and will support the main digital broadcast standards for delivering TV to mobile devices: DAB/DMB and DVB-H. Such independence of broadcast and transmission hardware standards makes it suitable for major markets around the world, and it can be adapted for feature phones, smartphones, PDAs, and media players running all major operating systems. The DAB-IP software will include support for both H.264 and Microsoft Windows Media Video (WMV) codecs.
