The E6 embedded computer, with two PCI slots or one PCI and one PCI Express slot, completes the NanoServer product line from DSM Computer (Munich, Germany) that consists of the E4 with one slot and the flat E8 without any slots with the fully reworked housing concept.
The NanoServer E6-A is based on the Intel Atom N270 processor with 1.6 GHz clock and the Intel 945GSE/ICH7M chipset with Intel GMA 950 VGA graphic controller.
The housing of the NanoServer provides a screwed-on base flap that permits access to the internal Compact Flash socket, the memory expansions, and the hard disk.
In addition to the a number of standard interfaces, there are eight USB 2.0 (six external, two internal), four serial ports (three RS232, one RS232/422/485), optional LPT (rather than COM4) and an audio interface.
To supplement the 10/100 Base-TX and 1000 Base-T Ethernet, Wireless LAN is optionally supported. DVI, VGA and internal dual channel LVDS are available as graphic interfaces.
A serial ATA connection for two SATA II 300 devices and an IDE Port (2 EIDE) augment the comprehensive range of interfaces. The robust housing provides space for two 2.5 inch solid state drives (SSDs) or HDDs (EIDE or SATA II 300).
In the industrial environment, the E6-A embedded system can be connected directly to the power supply system using a 12 VDC power pack (optional 24 VDC). As alternative, an external 100 ” 240 VAC power pack can be used to supply power. Specified working temperature lies in the range 0 to 50°C with fanless operation from 0° to 40°C.
The NanoServer E6-A can be used for tasks such as plant control and in the metal processing industry, in transport and logistics, and as control computer for POS/POI and digital signage systems.
