New CEO coming in at Symbian

LONDON — Nigel Clifford is to become Chief Executive Officer of Symbian in June. He was previously Chief Executive of Tertio Telecoms, a telecoms software product and services company backed by Apax Partners, Advent International and GE Equity which was sold to Evolving Systems in November 2004.

Before Tertio Telecoms, Clifford spent two years as Senior Vice President, Service Delivery with Cable & Wireless, serving on the company’s United Kingdom Board and running an organisation employing 2,000 people and a capital program of more than £200million.

From 1992 Clifford spent five years as Chief Executive of the Glasgow Royal Infirmary University National Health Service Trust and previously spent eleven years with British Telecom, most recently as Head of Business Strategy and Market Development for BT’s Mobile Communications business unit, and before that as Senior Strategist in the Chairman's office.
