LONDON The fifth biennial Embedded Real-time Software and Systems conference and exhibition is to be held in Toulouse, France on May 19 to 21.
ERTS is organized jointly by three learned societies representing automotive, aeronautics and space: SIA (the French Society of Automobile Engineers), AAAF (the French Society of Aeronautic and Aerospace) and SEE (the French Society for Electricity, Electronics, and Information & Communication Technologies).
For this years event the organizers say system aspects will be explicitly addressed as many of topics flagged as 'software' related would be better addressed with a broader system view.
Not limiting itself to the transport sector, ERTS2 2010 is to have presentations and exhibitors from a number of industry sectors involving embedded systems such as healthcare and home appliance, energy management, telecommunications including wireless connectivity, industrial control, and defense.
The programme committee is chaired by Jean-Claude Laprie, winner of the 2009 Grand Prix in Informatics of the French Academy of Sciences. Grard Ladier of Airbus, France and Jean-Luc Maté of Continental, France are the congress co-chairpersons.
In January 2008 the conference had more than 500 active participants and this year the organizers expect over 800 attendees.
