Microsoft is holding events in the UK, France and the Netherlands to help embedded developers bring the power of Windows 7 in a componentized version to their device
The UK event on May 6 at the Microsoft Campus in Reading will include product launch information on Windows Embedded Standard 7 and provide information on the enhanced functionality, networking capabilities, improved security, and reliability of the upcoming Windows Embedded Standard release.
There will also be hands-on labs using Windows Embedded CE and Windows Embedded Standard with spaces limited and are on a first come, first served basis.
The company will also provide future strategic product roadmap information and provide an understanding of how to partner with it. Attendees will also be able to receive event exclusive offers from Microsoft's Windows Embedded Partners and Authorised Distributors.
Vertical break-out sessions will provide an understanding around Windows Embedded in the healthcare, retail and industrial industries, and in relation to competitive operating systems.
Live demos of Windows Embedded Standard 7 will show how to build an image from start to finish, and an overview on how to service the operating system.
Similar events are planned for Paris, France on May 20 and the Netherlands on June 23 and has already been held in Israel.
