Brooktrout Technology and Radvision announced a strategic partnership for IP-based video solutions for the global service provider market. The solution, which incorporates Brooktrout's SnowShore IP Media Server and Radvision's Scopia advanced video services platform, enables the transparent delivery of high-margin IP video services over circuit-switched, hybrid, or packet network architectures. The joint offering will enable a wide range of media services including audio and video telephony and conferencing, video mail and video messaging, interactive multimedia content streaming, video in contact centers, and live entertainment and communications services.
These video-based services, which complement traditional voice and data services already offered by service providers, can grow the carrier's revenues both through increasing network usage as well as transforming the 3G network into a conduit through which to offer existing billable media. The Radvision platform supports the 3G-324M specifications from both the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for WCDMA and 3GPP2 for CDMA2000.
