LONDON VirtenSys, a fabless semiconductor company working on PCI Express based I/O virtualization solutions, is looking to recruit both hardware and software engineers for its design team based near Manchester.
The company raised $12 million in a first round of financing in October from a syndicate including Scottish Equity Partners (SEP), Celtic House Venture Partners (CHVP) and GIMV. The investment was to enable VirtenSys (Cheadle, England) to add to its team, complete its product development and generate initial revenues.
It is looking to recruit RTL design engineers, system verification engineers, hardware design engineers and a senior software architect to work at its U.K. base while technical sales support engineers are also to be added to it U.S. operation based in Palo Alto, California.
VirtenSys was formed in November 2005 to develop technology which will enable improvements in the value and effectiveness of both newly installed and existing IT infrastructure and improve the ability of systems to adapt to the dynamic workloads of successful and emerging businesses.
The company's product roadmap provides a standards compliant migration path for servers to share IO resources based on PCI Express, providing compatibility with existing commodity servers, IO cards, operating systems, drivers and applications.
The company's team have experience in semiconductor and system development across a range of protocols and technologies with background at ICL, Fujitsu, and Power X while the majority of the team was most recently with the integrated system division of Xyratex.
