Peak adds custom design and build of test equipment

LONDON — The Peak Group has expanded it capabilities to provide a custom design and build service for test equipment in the electronics manufacturing, aerospace and defence industries.

Frank Nuttall, Peak's Managing Director, said, “In addition to the manufacture of custom-built test equipment, we are being increasingly used by a number of major customers to lay out and build test racks and other electronics assemblies to their circuit diagrams and design drawings. Recent projects include cables for the aerospace industry, bespoke test consoles for the air traffic control industry and test equipment for railway signal systems.'

The ability to configure and assemble prototype and production test systems is based on Peak's established expertise in functional test plus the use of proprietary technology including mass interconnect interfaces from VirginiaPanel Corporation – for which Peak is the exclusive UK representative – and PXI test modules from National Instruments.

These modular building blocks provide a range of hardware and software options that can be configured to provide the backbone of a range of test solutions. These building blocks allow specific test accessories to be grafted onto the system to accommodate the exact technical requirements of the unit under test. Further enhancement is provided by Peak's TestMasterfunctional test software, which is based on a modular approach which eases configuration and use.
