LONDON Pelikon, the developer and commercial exploiter of printed, segmented electroluminescent displays (pSEL) for home appliance, consumer electronic and industrial displays market, has appointed Hugh Baker-Smith as Director of Sales and Marketing.
Baker-Smith has a track record of generating and managing significant revenue growth and his remit is to pursue sales growth in all Pelikon's target markets in the period running up to its planned IPO in 2006.
Before joining Pelikon, Smith spent six years as Sales and Marketing Director of Cambridge based inkjet company, Xaar where he was responsible for an increase in annual sales from £1.5 million to £36 million and established the company as a provider of industrial print head.
Baker-Smith said, “Pelikon has demonstrated the commercial acceptance of its technology by shipping over 1 million displays. We are now equipped to take our products into new markets and territories with our recent refinancing roundproviding the necessary resources to do this effectively.”
Mike Powell, Pelikon's CEO commented, “Hugh's background in sales, marketing, and licensing combined with his international market experience in China, Japan, the US and Europe, will be invaluable as we target new markets and applications for Pelikon's display technology.”
