LONDON ePOINT, a developer of interactive technology based in Alloa, Scotland, has signed a licensing deal with PC manufacturer, Flytech Technologies who will manufacture and distribute its PhotoGenie terminal worldwide.
The licensing deal is the start of ePOINT's strategy to focus its activities on the underlying technologies it has developed for interactive touchscreen terminals in business-critical retail applications such as digital photo, digital music, leisure and gaming.
Flytech, a listed Taiwanese manufacturer of POS terminals with worldwide distribution, will use the ePOINT PhotoGenie terminal to extend its product range, enabling immediate entry to the growing digital photo market.
The PhotoGenie retail photo terminal, which enables digital camera users to select and print their digital photos, can already be found in retailers in the UK, Europe and North America. Development of the counter-top machine follows ePOINT's successful relationships with photo and leisure retailers and corporations worldwide including Hewlett Packard, Fujifilm, Leisure Link, Argos and Virgin.
EPOINT’s smart technology is for interactive terminals used by consumers in digital photo, digital music download, leisure, gaming and vending markets. Its Flash Media Processor is a leading peripheral for flash memory card handling in self-service terminals. The deal with Flytech is the first of a series of deals that will allow manufacturers to incorporate ePOINT’s core technology in their own products.
