Photoelectric sensors extend time-of-flight detection distance


E3AS-F series reflective-type photoelectric sensors from Omron employ time-of-flight detection at sensing distances of up to 1500 mm, five times that of previous models. Time-of-flight detection ensures high detection stability regardless of the characteristics of the target object, such as color, material, or surface. These sensors are also not influenced by varying sensing distances.

The E3AS-F sensors offers a settable sensing distance of 50 mm to 1500 mm, eliminating the need for manufacturers to select different sensors for each application. A single-button teaching method allows optimal threshold values to be easily set. The use of an antifouling coating on the sensing surface reduces false detection and minimizes maintenance in environments where oil, dust, or steam are present.

Housed in a compact metal or plastic package, the E3AS-F series of photoelectric sensors can be mounted anywhere. Further, their small form factor and environmental protections, including IP67, IP69K, and IP67G, make them well-suited for a diverse range of applications.
