PicoChip brings in ex-Arm CFO as chairman
London Jonathan Brooks (left) has become non-executive chairman of picoChip, the developer of a DSP tuned for wireless and a supplier of complete reference designs for WiMAX and HSDPA.
Brooks was previous chief financial officer (CFO) and director of ARM Holdings during the company's transition through IPO.
Peter Claydon, co-founder and CEO of picoChip, said, “We are very pleased to have someone of Jonathan's calibre as chairman of picoChip. Jonathan's broad business knowledge, skill as a director and his first hand experiences at ARM will serve our company well as we transition from an innovative start-up to a global market leader.”
Brooks, added, “I am very excited to be joining picoChip at such an interesting time. The company is bringing in revenue from a number of impressive and credible design wins; the next challenges are to grow, develop and capitalise on this early success in today's tough high tech market.”
He is currently CFO and a director of Frontier Silicon, who supply semiconductors for DAB and digital television applications. He is also a non-executive director of e2v technologies and Xyratex.
