Pluggable FPGA modules enable scalable prototyping systems

Pro Design expands its proFPGA family of prototyping systems with three different size motherboards and a pluggable FPGA module intended for small and medium-size IP and SoC designs. The uno, duo, and quad boards accommodate one, two, and four pluggable FPGA modules, respectively, each of which is outfitted with an Intel Arria 10 GX 1150 FPGA.

The proFPGA A10 GX 1150 FPGA module forms the logic core for scalable and modular multiple-FPGA prototyping systems. Developers can use the proFPGA uno motherboard for IP or sub-designs and reuse the pluggable FPGA module for complete SoC and ASIC prototyping on a duo or quad motherboard. All previous-generation proFPGA motherboards, FPGA modules, most daughtercards, and accessories are compatible with the new proFPGA A10 GX 1150 FPGA modules and systems.

Each proFPGA A10 GX 1150 FPGA module offers up to 8M ASIC gates, allowing systems to scale to 32M ASIC gates on the quad motherboard. Up to nine proFPGA quad motherboards packing 36 FPGA modules can be connected together to increase total capacity to 288M ASIC gates. An uno configuration furnishes six extension sites offering 646 user I/Os, along with 48 high-speed serial transceivers.
