Portable wireless access system combines 802.11a/b/g access point with 3G backhaul

Combining an enterprise-class 802.11a/b/g access point with 3G data network access in a portable hotspot solution, the mSystem family of indoor and outdoor wireless mesh access points and routers offers Internet access to multiple concurrent WiFi clients wherever there's 3G or GPRS data network coverage. Developed by Telabria, the AP-3G multi-radio wireless system weighs just 3 lbs. The product is suited for temporary installations where Internet access at broadband speeds is required, but where fixed high-speed access is unavailable. The AP-3G can detect the presence of higher-capacity metro-scale mesh networks, and if available, seamlessly connect to the faster backhaul route.

The AP-3G's security features, such as WPA/AES 128-bit encryption and RADIUS authentication, ensure privacy of communications for connected users. The device runs on an internal rechargeable battery, and can also be externally powered and charged using a 12-V adaptor. For more information, visit www.telabria.com.
