LONDON Power amplifier technology developer, Nujira (CAMBRIDGE, England) has expanded its board of directors with the appointment of William Sweeney.
Sweeney has over 20 years of international management experience in the telecommunications industry. He was most recently executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at REMEC, a designer and manufacturer of high frequency subsystems used in the transmission of voice, video and data traffic over wireless communications networks, where he grew corporate revenue from $186million to $500million.
Previous to REMEC, Sweeney was vice president of sales at a start-up providing LMDS point-to-multipoint wireless solutions. From 1992 to 2001, he was Director of Market Development at Cisco Systems with global responsibilities for packet switched technologies and products for the Global Service Provider market.
Tim Haynes, CEO of Nujira, said, “His strong relationships and contacts within the cellular infrastructure industry will help grow our customer base and take Nujira forward in becoming a global market leader. Bill’s particular strength in sales, marketing and business development will be key in accelerating Nujira’s business development activities with the infrastructure providers.”
Nujira’s patented high power High Accuracy Tracking (HAT) Modulators for WCDMA, CDMA2000 or WiMAX base stations enable infrastructure and handset OEMs to avoid the reduction in amplifier efficiency normally associated with use of these systems.
