Processor boosts mobile games

Cambridge, UK — Alphamosaic has set up a joint initiative with Korean mobile game and entertainment developer ZIO Interactive, which will see the Seoul based company port a range of games to Alphamosaic's VideoCore video processor.

The combination should allow mobile device manufacturers to provide a package of dynamic, graphics rich games with improved quality and low power consumption. When used as a graphics processor VideoCore is said to be equivalent to 3GHz ARM.

Alphamosaic and ZIO Interactive will jointly market their initiative to phone manufacturers worldwide and expect the first phones using VideoCore to deliver ZIO Interactive's games will be available to customers by the fourth quarter of 2003.
