LONDON The UK’s first PROFIBUS International Conference attracted over 100 delegates from over 20 countries, coming from as far as America, Trinidad and China. Its success has prompted the organisers to timetable an event next year on 21 and 22nd June again at the same venue, Ragley Hall.
Bob Squirrell, UK Chairman and organiser of the event, said, “We had an absolutely fantastic conference with much new material presented covering the latest developments in PROFIBUS, PROFINET, PROFIsafe, PROFIdrive and PROFIBUS PA.
John Williamson of United Utilities commented, “As a user in the water industry we were very pleased that a conference was available on this subject and it provided us with the necessary stimulus to decide to adopt PROFIBUS technology more widely from now on. The event provided a good balance between academic and practical subjects, and between workshops or lectures. There was a good mix of suppliers and users also. Also the number of exhibitors gave confidence to users that PROFIBUS is being widely supported, and that co-operation exists to evolve standards and products which will be inter-operable.”
